Soccer Shootout Fundraiser
I'm hosting this fundraising event for ALS United Greater New York, raising funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS. My Grandpa was diagnosed with ALS about 2 years ago and ALS United Greater New York has been a big source of support for my family - helping with funding equipment, medical services, a van, a ramp, and more. Their support groups help my family as well. I wanted to give back to the organization so that they can continue to help others affected by this terrible disease.
ALS United Greater New York provides patient services resources, funds research, and much more in order to help those living with ALS in the local community.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure.
Come down to the Baymen Soccer fields by the shack on Sunday, May 5th anytime between 8am and 6pm to compete in a soccer shootout tournament.
How it will work:
There will be 4 age groups: elementary, middle, high school, and adult. $5 for 7 shots. Total scores will be added up and winners of each age group will get a prize!
(You do not have to stay for the whole event - we will put your score with your name and phone number and contact the winners.)
Your contribution will make an impact in our local community, no matter how big or small the donation. Please support my Soccer Shoot Out Fundraiser (either in person on the soccer field or by making a donation if you're unable to come to the event) and help me reach my goal!
