Since 2018 I have been running to raise money for the ALS Association of Greater NY in an effort to do what I can to find a cure for this horrible disease for my sister Donna. To date I have run several half Marathons as well as running the NY City Marathon in 2019 and 2021 and raised over $10,000 in those efforts. I have always believed in putting in the work to earn the privilege of asking for donations to a cause I am passionate about….so, this year I am not running the NY City Marathon, but have decided to go all in and do my first full Ironman 140.6 on November 19 in Tempe Arizona. A full Ironman is a 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile bike and finished off with a full marathon of 26.2 miles. The ALS Association has sanctioned my efforts and allowed me to compete on behalf of Team ALS.  On behalf of my sister and all who suffer this illness, please donate as generously as you can. Any size donation is appreciated beyond words.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.

 

Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries. 

 

This is why Challenging ALS is important to me. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide resources and services to families free of charge. I'm asking for your help. Please donate and help me defeat ALS!
