My Fight to Defeat ALS in honor of Steven A. Hirsch
I am participating on Team ALS in memory of Steven A. Hirsch. A great man who battled ALS until July 8, 2006 at the young age of 40. I aim to raise funds to help fight back against this terrible disease so one day no other family will be affected the way my family has.
This is why Team ALS is important to me. To bring hope. To raise awareness and to provide resources and services to families free of charge. I'm asking for your help. I am striving to raise $3,240 for the 32.4 Miles I will be racing in his honor this year. Please donate in anyway you can and help me defeat ALS!
About ALS:
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
ALS United Greater New York provides much needed patient services resources, funds global, cutting-edge research, and much more in order to help those living with ALS right in our community.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
