Craig's Crew Walk ALS Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm participating in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk ALS for the second year to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS.
Last year our team raised over $20,000! We were honored as top fundraisers at the ALS walk Kickoff event at Madison square garden last month. Let’s do it again! We have rebranded our team-we are now Craig’s Crew- and we have T shirts! We are hoping to recruit more walkers this year. It’s a fun day in the city and if past is prologue Craig’s Crew will land at a pub somewhere to keep the fun going!
An update on me…I’m still here! I’ve outlived my life expectancy and plan to keep going thanks to a lifesaving drug called Qalsody. I plan to walk at the event as my legs are still strong. My upper limbs are very weak and good luck understanding me as my speech is impaired. No I’m not drunk it’s ALS. Thank goodness for my excellent translators-Andrew, my kids, and my sisters! Qalsody is available thanks to fundraising and awareness—remember the ice bucket challenge? That is why I’m still here. A testimony to the fact that ALS in not incurable its underfunded.
Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without the disease.
Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating!
Thank you.
Melanie
