My Personal Walk ALS Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. My family and I am participating in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure.
My father, Ram Gupta, lost his fight to ALS last May after being diagnosed over 9 years ago. We are walking in his honor and for all of those who are currently suffering from or have lost their battle to ALS.
Please either join us for the walk and/or support our efforts by donating through our fundraising page. If you have the time or interest, we would love for you to join our team and help us reach our fundraising goal.
Your donation today will help provide resources and services to the local ALS community, help fund research for new ALS treatments, and move us one step closer to a world without this disease.
Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in participating!
Thank you,
Anita
