Walk ALS New York City

Team Tracie

Welcome to our team page!

We are participating in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk ALS to raise funds to support people in our local community with ALS and spread awareness.

Please consider joining our team in the Walk ALS or choose a team member from the list and donate to our cause.

Team Tracie was built from the friends and family of Tracie Brennan, who was diagnosed with ALS in the Fall of 2022. While she didn't know it at the time, Tracie has been fighting Bulbar-onset ALS since Spring of 2020 when she experienced symptons of speech delays and eventually leg weakness.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.

Since diagnosis, Tracie has been giving ALS all she's got despite the head-to-toe effects of progression. Tracie is a well-loved and cherished mother, daughter, wife, aunt and friend and is an accomplished TV producer, pet parent, cook, adventurer, DIY-er, and entrepreneur. For all those resons, on May 4th we will be walking for her and for everybody in the fight against ALS!

Help us move a cure for ALS over the finish line by donating today. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS.

Thank you for your support!
