Walk ALS Long Island

Bea's Bunch

Welcome to our team page!

Our beautiful Mom (& Nanny) was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 50 years young. Every day for 3 years her body was being taken away from her. She could not walk, talk or move in any way. We communicated with her by her blinking her eyes. She was a prisoner in her own body. She was an amazing human being! Loving wife, devoted mom, caring nanny, sister, aunt & friend. Everyone who knew her absolutely loved her! Watching this happen to someone you love so much tears your heart out. She, her entire family & future family were robbed of a lifetime together because she died at the young age of 53.

A cure MUST be found for this cruel, in humane & most horrific disease.

Thank you for helping us reach our fundraising goal! Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. Our team is committed to raising money to support people in our community with ALS and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. Please consider joining our team in the Walk ALS or choose a team member from the list and donate to our cause.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.

Help us move a cure for ALS over the finish line by donating today. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS.

Thank you for your support!
