Walk To Defeat ALS!
On October 20, 2024, Dave and I will participate join ALS United Greater New York’s Walk ALS for the 4th time, to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS.
It has been 4 1/2 years since Dave heard the devastating news that Dave had ALS. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure.
At that time, I promised Dave that we would fight this disease together. Being a part of ALS United Greater New York’s WALK ALS with Dave is one way I keep my promise to him. It is an important way to unite with others and fundraise for those living with ALS.
This organization has been there to support us from the beginning as the world around us shut down due to COVID. I don't know what we would have done without their support. Please consider supporting my efforts by donating through my fundraising page.
Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without the disease. Your donation gives us the hope, strength and support to continue this fight!
Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating!
Thank you,
Pat
