After running the NYC United Half Marathon in March, I am thrilled to receive one of sixty slots to run the NYC marathon to benefit The ALS United Greater New York Chapter. I will be running in honor of my dad, Lloyd David Lurie, who tragically passed away from ALS in 2017.

For those of you who didn’t know my dad, he was an incredible man who got into running during the later years of his life. Even with ALS and an arm he couldn’t control, you would see my dad running down Greenspring Avenue getting his miles in with his arm hitting his chest. Unfortunately by the time he was getting to long distances, his disease had taken over but I will be completing his mission to run a marathon on November 3rd ( 2 days before his birthday). Whether it be one or one hundred dollars, thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me and my family!
