Welcome to our team page! WE WALK SATURDAY, MAY 3, 2025

TEAM TRACIE, built by the friends and family of Tracie Brennan, first walked with the ALS Greater New York in 2024. Tracie had been diagnosed with ALS Fall of 2022, but had been fighting the early symptoms since Spring of 2020, when she first experience symptoms of speech delays and leg weakness. We gathered together as the village it would take to contribute towards ending this terrible disease and support Tracie and family as they fought the good fight.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The file expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.

Little did we know that we would only have a scant few months before Tracie, our beloved friend, mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt and shining star, succumbed to the effects of this terrible illness. Tracie, an accomplished TV producer, pet mom, cook, adventurer and entrepreneur, has been taken from her loving family and friends far too soon. Our sadness has been profound, but we are determined to carry on the fight to find a cure for ALS. We will be walking again, in memoriam, for Tracie and all who have been stricken by this tragic scourge.  SATURDAY MAY 3rd, 2025

The ALS Association has issued statements strongly opposing the current administration’s proposed NIH cuts, emphasizing the importance of continued funding for research and the potential consequences of these cuts for people living with ALS.

Help us fund resources and services to the local ALS community. Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. Together we need to pray and support research for a cure!

Thank you for your support!
