Leah's Walk ALS Page for Team Hope For Bo
Dear Family & Friends,
In honor of Bo, my dear brother-in-law, friend, and the wonderful person with whom I share my birthday, I'm participating in the ALS United Greater New York’s Walk ALS on June 8th.
Bo was diagnosed with ALS in December of 2022. For anyone who is not familiar with this cruel and heartbreaking disease, ALS is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. Currently there is no cure for ALS.
We are also sadly aware of the pain Cybele (Bo's wife/my sister) endures each day watching Bo struggle and lose his ability to care for himself on his own.
I am participating, along with my Hope for Bo team members, in the walk to raise awareness and raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS. The walk is the number one way to unite and fundraise for those living with ALS.
Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating.
With so much gratitude,
Leah and Team Hope for Bo
