Team Sandman: Walking in Angelina's Light
We Walk for Sandy. We Remember Angelina. We are TEAM SANDMAN: WALKING IN ANGELINA'S LIGHT
Sandy was diagnosed with ALS in 2018. Just two years later, in 2020, he lost his daughter Angelina to pediatric neuroblastoma at the age of 10. We walk not only for Sandy — who continues to face each day with strength, but also in loving memory of Angelina, who taught us to live in the present and rise to every challenge with courage.
Before ALS, Sandy worked at Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse, as a manager who never hesitated to roll up his sleeves and help wherever he was needed. For someone so active and hands-on, the diagnosis was a devastating blow. Not only did he slowly lose his ability to work, but he had to face the pain of not being able to physically support his daughter during her fight against cancer.
We’re walking to support ALS United, an organization that has stood by us in countless ways when we’ve had nowhere else to turn. With New Jersey facing a projected 20% cut in Medicaid in 2026, families impacted by ALS are more vulnerable than ever.
Please consider walking with us (in person or in spirit) or share.
For Sandy. For Angelina. For every family who’s had to fight like them.
