My Personal Walk ALS Page

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm once again leading a walk team in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS.
This year's Walk event will be held on Saturday, September 20. Our team, Memories of Miriam, will continue to honor my loving mom, Miriam, by raising money to make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. Despite her difficult battle with three major cancers and then ALS, my heroic mother, Miriam, never stopped fighting to survive for her family, whom she loved so much. However, in May 2012, Miriam lost her battle with ALS, but not before leaving her family and friends with wonderful and touching moments and memories.
I hope you'll donate to my fundraising page as we remember and honor Miriam, as well as support those people still facing the challenges of ALS. We hope to one day find a cure for this fatal disease.
Thank you,
Gail Wurtzel
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure.
Being a part of ALS United Greater New York’s WALK ALS is the number one way to unite and fundraise for those living with ALS. Please consider supporting my efforts by donating through my fundraising page.
Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without the disease.
Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating!
