ALS Walk Long Island
This year, I?m participating in ALS United Greater New York?s Walk ALS in memory of my aunt, Kathryn Mulvey, who we recently lost to this devastating disease. She was the glue of our family, our sunshine on cloudy days, and my biggest fan when I decided to pursue neurology. I?ll always carry her words with me; to use my voice to raise awareness and push for more research in these devastating cases.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive and fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly takes away a person?s ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is just 2 to 5 years. ALS can strike anyone, regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity. Right now, there is no known cause or cure.
Walking for ALS is my way of honoring her life and spirit, while also helping other families walking this same road.
Your donation will:

Bring us closer to a world without this disease
If you?re able, please consider supporting my efforts by donating through this page. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. Please also feel free to share this page with friends and family who may want to help.
I walk in her memory, and for the day when ALS no longer takes innocent lives.
