Walk ALS Long Island

Team Roaddog

Thank you for visiting our page. Our personal superhero, Richard Baum, has been courageously battling the devastating effects of ALS since his symptoms first appeared in 2019. As a family, we’re proud to be participating in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk to Defeat ALS—an event dedicated to raising funds that directly support individuals and families affected by this disease.

This will be our third year walking, and this time, we’re hoping to make an even bigger impact. We’ve experienced firsthand the incredible support ALS United provides, and we can confidently say they are a truly worthy cause.

We’d love to have a strong turnout for the walk—whether you’re able to donate or simply join us in person, your support means the world.

Scroll down for more information about ALS, ALS United, and how you can get involved in this year’s walk.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.

Help us move a cure for ALS over the finish line by donating today. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS.

Thank you for your support!
