Honoring Kathy Crowley - 2025 New York City Marathon
I am so honored to be running the 2025 New York City Marathon with Team ALS in memory of my Aunt, Kathy Crowley, who we lost to Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) this past year.
Kathy was one of the most fun-loving, spirited, and generous people I've ever known. Witnessing her journey with ALS was both heartbreaking and profoundly inspiring. Despite the immense challenges this devastating disease presented, she remained a beacon of light—dancing, laughing, and creating precious moments of joy with her family every day. Her resilience and unwavering positivity were extraordinary, matched only by the incredible support of her husband Mike, her children Alisa and Michael, and her grandchildren Bea, Tommy, Hannah, and Jack. Together, they navigated this difficult time with remarkable strength, unity, and—as was always Kathy's way—a wonderfully witty sense of humor. I know that everyone who was fortunate enough to spend time with Kathy during those final years feels incredibly lucky and will forever be inspired by her grace and bravery in the face of something so scary.
Since Kathy's passing, I've become more aware of others affected by ALS. Witnessing how friends and family rallied to support Kathy has deeply reinforced the importance of community and compassion when facing this disease.
By partnering with ALS United Greater New York, all funds raised will go directly to where they're needed most:
- Vital research toward finding a cure
- Community support programs
- Essential patient services for those living with ALS
I am deeply moved by how Kathy and her family handled her ALS diagnosis with such tremendous courage and endless amounts of love and care. Because of them, I hold my health—and the people in my life—a little closer each day.
Please consider supporting my marathon journey with a donation of any size. Together, we can honor Kathy's incredible spirit while working toward a future where no one has to endure what she and her loved ones experienced.
Together, We Can End ALS
