Steps for Sonny
Hello Family & Friends. I'm participating in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk ALS to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS.
I have created the team: "Steps for Sonny" in memory of my dad, Hayden Lee Justus, whose nickname was Sonny. My dad courageously fought this disease for 4 years and passed at the age of 58.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure.
Please consider supporting my efforts by donating through my fundraising page by clicking 'donate now' below—all proceeds will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, and help find new ALS treatments.
If you are near the NYC area and would like to join our team on the Walk, please click on the 'join team' link and reach out to me directly for more details.
