Walking for Yajahira
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page
I’m participating in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk ALS not just to raise funds, but because this has become deeply personal to me. On April 26, 2026, I lost one of my best friends to ALS. I had the honor of being by her side throughout her journey, and I witnessed firsthand the strength it takes to fight this disease… and the pain it causes not only to the person battling it, but to everyone who loves them.
ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a progressive, fatal disease that slowly takes away a person’s ability to walk, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. There is still no cure. Watching someone you love go through this is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone—and I’m tired of seeing people suffer from this illness.
I’m walking in memory of her, to honor her strength, her fight, and the love she gave so freely. I’m also walking to bring awareness and to be part of something bigger—so that one day, no one else has to go through this.
If you’re able to walk, donate, support, or even just share this page, it truly means everything. Together, we can help fund research, support families, and move closer to a cure.
This walk is for her
