My Personal Walk ALS Long Island Page
Thank you for visiting my page. I'm walking in ALS United Greater New York's Walk ALS to raise funds for those whose lives have been touched by this disease.
In my work as an Elder Care Advocate and Social Worker, I've seen the profound impact ALS has on patients and their families. I walk for all of them — honoring those no longer with us, and supporting those still on this journey.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure.
Being part of ALS United Greater New York's WALK ALS is one of the most meaningful ways I know to come together as a community — to stand united for those living with this disease and to raise the funds that truly make a difference in their lives. If my walk has moved you in any way, I humbly ask that you consider supporting me with a donation through this page.
Every contribution — no matter the size — helps provide essential resources and services to our local ALS community, funds the search for new treatments, and brings us one step closer to a world free of ALS. That is a future worth fighting for.
Please don't hesitate to share this page with friends or family who may want to join us in making that future possible. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your kindness and generosity mean everything.
