My Personal Walk ALS Long Island Page
This Saturday, September 19th, I will be joining the Long Island ALS Walk at Eisenhower Park. Registration begins at 9:00, followed by the opening ceremony at 10:30 and the walk at 11:00.
ALS has shaped my family’s story for decades. Lou Gehrig’s diagnosis in 1939 brought national attention to this devastating disease. In August 1986, my Mom was diagnosed, and we lost her in 1990. Eighty‑seven years after Gehrig’s diagnosis, my sister Susan received hers in April 2026. Too many families continue to face the same heartbreak.
I’m walking to support ALS United and the critical work they do for patients and families. I’m walking to fuel research, to push for progress, and to raise awareness. And I’m walking in honor of my Mom, my former boss and friend Bill Lamoreaux, and in support of my sister Susan.
Your support means more than you know. Thank you.
