Walk ALS Long Island

Miles for Mimi

For the woman who spent her life taking care of everyone else.

For the nurse who gave so much of herself to others.

For the mom and Mimi who has always been the heart and strength of our family.

Three years ago, our world changed when Terri was diagnosed with ALS.

Over the past year, ALS has progressed to the point where she is now completely dependent on others for her daily care. Watching someone who spent her life taking care of everyone else become dependent on others has been incredibly difficult. But if you know our mamma, you know that ALS does not define her.

Terri is still Terri.

She is still our mamma. Still our best friend. Still the biggest personality in the room. Still finding reasons to laugh, love, celebrate, and make memories with the people she loves most.

We are walking together September 19th at Eisenhower Park with ALS United to celebrate the woman she is, to support our mamma and our family and to stand beside every person and family affected by ALS.

We are walking for the nurses, caregivers, families, and friends who give everything they have to help someone living with this disease. And we are walking for a future where no family has to hear the words, “You have ALS.”

Every donation helps support people living with ALS and their families while also advancing research toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

Please join Miles for Mimi by donating, walking with us or simply sending some love our way.

We have always believed in making the most of every moment with our mamma. So that’s what we’re going to keep doing — loving big, laughing hard, celebrating life, and making every moment count.
