Three years ago, I lost my mom to ALS, but I carry her love and strength with me every single day. She wasn’t just my mother—she was my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the person who taught me what unconditional love truly means. I walk in her honor to remember her incredible courage and the grace she showed throughout her battle with this devastating disease. Every step is a promise that her story, her spirit, and her fight will never be forgotten. I also walk to help raise awareness and hope for families who are facing ALS today, believing that one day no one will have to endure this disease. This walk is for you, Mom—I love you, I miss you every day, and I will keep walking until we find a cure.

Awareness: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure.
