Push Your Limits. Fight ALS.
I’m running the 2026 NYC Marathon in honor and memory of my dad, Michael “Boomer” Wallace, who passed away from ALS in December 2018.
If you knew my dad, you probably remember his big personality, sharp sense of humor, love for music, and unwavering loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles (Go birds!). You may also remember how much he cared about supporting the ALS community, including his involvement with ALS United (fka. the ALS Association) and Augie’s Quest. I can’t think of a better way to honor him than taking on this challenge in his name.
Running the NYC Marathon has been a lifelong goal of mine. I remember when my uncle Tim first told me about his experience running the race when I was a kid. I'm excited to participate in the marathon in such a meaningful way.
I’m proud to be partnering again with ALS United. In 2025, we raised over $3,000 as part of the NYC United Half Marathon team, and I’m excited to build on that momentum this year. ALS United does incredible work, supporting individuals and families impacted by ALS through services like home care, accessibility modifications, and equipment, while also funding critical research for treatments and a cure.
Any contribution means a lot and goes toward making a difference in the fight against ALS. Thank you for considering and being part of this journey with me.
More details on race day celebrations to come. Mark your calendars for Sunday November 1, 2026!
Best,
Will
PS: I’ve linked Box of Rain from my first Dead show with my dad. A memory that means more to me with each passing year. I dedicate it to him and the mark he left on all of us.
