I’m proud to be running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with Team ALS in honor of my father-in-law, Phil Jacobsen, who lost his battle with ALS in 2018. Phil was a great father, husband and friend who is missed dearly.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS or “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. While every person’s experience with ALS is different, the disease changes life in ways that are incredibly difficult for patients and for the families, friends, and caregivers who stand beside them. Every 90 minutes, someone is diagnosed with ALS, and someone passes away from the disease. There is presently no cure for ALS.

Team ALS is dedicated to advancing the science needed to find effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Every dollar raised helps fund critical research, raise awareness, and support families facing ALS. Through ALS United Greater New York, 100% of funds raised will go where they are needed most: critical research, community support, and patient services.

I joined Team ALS in honor of those who have battled the disease, and to support the work being done to bring hope to families affected by ALS. Thank you for any and all support!

Together, We End ALS!
