Miles for Lisa: Running Toward a Cure
Running the TCS New York City Marathon has always been a dream of ours—but this year, it means so much more.
On November 1, 2026, we will be running 26.2 miles together as part of Team ALS Greater United. Every step of this journey is dedicated to someone incredibly special our best friend Lindsey’s mom, Lisa Berkowitz, who bravely battled ALS and passed away on September 16, 2025.
ALS is a devastating disease that progressively robs individuals of their ability to move, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. Watching Lisa’s strength, resilience, and grace throughout her fight left a lasting impact on both of us. Her story is one we carry with us—and it’s one that fuels every mile we run.
But Lisa’s story is not unique. Thousands of families face this same heartbreaking reality every year, and there is still no cure.
That’s why we’re running.
Through Team ALS Greater United, we have committed to raising $11,000 by November 1, 2026. These funds go directly toward critical research, patient care, and support services for individuals and families affected by ALS. Every donation—no matter the size—helps move us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
This marathon is more than a race. It’s a tribute to Lisa’s life, a way to support Lindsey and her family, and a commitment to fighting for everyone impacted by ALS.
We are running for Lisa.
We are running for Lindsey.
We are running for every family facing ALS.
If you’re able, please consider supporting our journey with a donation. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this page and helping us spread awareness means just as much.
Thank you for helping us turn miles into meaning.
Together, We End ALS!
With gratitude,
Kaitlyn & Lauryn
