My Personal Walk ALS Page
As many of you know, Caroline started Caroline's Crew in the spring of 2020 as part of her Bat Mitzvah project and in memory of my dad, Richard Gundy. Over the last few years, we've been able to raise $8,000 through the generosity of our family and friends.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure. My dad lived a little more than 4 months from the time he was diagnosed and this summer marks 5 years since he passed. He is missed every single day.
Being a part of ALS United Greater New York’s WALK ALS is the number one way to unite and fundraise for those living with ALS. Please consider supporting my efforts by donating through my fundraising page.
Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without the disease.
We would love to have you join Caroline's Crew on Sunday, June 9th for the walk (please message me if you have any questions on how to register) If you are unable to join and have made a donation, thank you, it is very much appreciated.
XO, Sandi
