Hope you are all well. It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Lots on my mind lately, chief of which is my sister Vivian.  Back in June she was diagnosed with ALS. 

Viv is 10 years older than me and throughout my life, she has been an inspiration. She is the most loving, kind, cheerful person I know. She is handling this disease with a God given grace I have never seen before. It kills me that I can’t fix this for her. I’ve even had difficulty figuring out how to pray for her!  Andrew, my son, came up with the following which I’d like to share with you:

“Dad, You pray for the doctors who are working on making sure her care is on point. For the researchers putting in timeless hours working towards a cure. For her loved ones that they can be strong and supportive of her. You pray for her comfort, strength, and quality of life, and you pray for the guidance to be the best that you can be. That is who and what you pray for, for Aunt Viv, her family and friends, her medical team, and the researchers worldwide working towards a cure.”

Please help me pray for my sister Vivian. My daughter Mary organized a “Walk for the Cure” fundraising event through the ALS Association of Greater NY. It’s officially known as the Hudson Valley Walk to Defeat ALS.
