We are Doing It For Debby
Seventeen years ago, we lost my mom, Debby Berniker, to ALS. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her smile, her hugs, her advice, and the way she made my favorite Chicken Parm dish to cheer me up. She was always there for everyone around her and would give anything if you needed it.
The one thing none of us could give her back was more time. That’s why I walk

For over 20 years, our team “Doing it For Debby” has been fighting this disease in her memory — and because of people like you, we’ve raised over $325,000 for the cause. That money has helped fund drugs that slow ALS progression and provided equipment and services to families going through one of the hardest things imaginable. And the science is actually moving — the FDA recently approved a new treatment that can slow ALS in certain patients, and researchers are pushing hard to extend that to everyone.
We haven’t found a cure yet. But we’re closer than we’ve ever been, and every dollar keeps that momentum going.
