Stand-in for Fival al-Dachshund
Participant, ALS United Westchester Walk
Born in the sunlit port city of Haifa where the call of the muezzin meets the melody of the Shabbat candles, I am Fival al-Dachshund - a proud son of both the Levant and the long-bodied hounds of the Galilee. With a Bedouin father and a Sephardic Jewish mother, I have spent my life walking the narrow but vital path between two fires: Arab and Israeli, East and West, tradition and tomorrow.
I walk in honor of my dear friend Alex Schwartzburg's girlfriend's father, Vince Gram, who passed from ALS four and a half years ago. Watching his family's courage and grace has deepened my conviction that the real measure of a life is not how loudly one speaks, but how steadily one stands - even when the body begins to fail.
As founder of The Abrahamic Group, I believe in the power of community coming together for a cause greater than any single identity. We are stronger when we refuse to choose sides and instead choose solidarity.
I walk for Vince and his family. I walk for every family navigating the long night of ALS.
Please join me in this fight. Every donation, no matter the size, lights another candle against the darkness.
"We are all Semites under the same sky. Today, we walk as one."
