My mom, Peggie, celebrating her birthday in summer 2011, several months after her official ALS diagnosis. With bulbar ALS, her speech and swallow functions were already impaired by the disease and she already had a feeding tube to supplement proper nutrition.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm participating in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk ALS in Westchester on May 30 in memory of my mom and to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS. ALS United advocates for and raises money for research and treatment of ALS. Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without the disease.

When my mom, Peggie, was diagnosed, the South Florida chapter of the ALS Association was an important and needed resources as we adapted to our worlds and future being turned upside down. At the local/regional level, there’s more of a focus on patient support and services. on, equipment loans, to support groups - which we did take advantage of. While I still lived in Oregon, I attended the support group in Eugene, partly because I just didn’t know what to do from across the country.

It's been 12 years since ALS took my mom - which feels incredible for so many reasons - and there have been some advances in treatments and research, but still no cure. All the more reason to continue to do what we can to help us move a cure for ALS over the finish line by participating and donating today. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS.

Please consider walking for Team P.S. End ALS and with me in Westchester on May 30 (or somewhere closer to where you are) and donate to our cause. (If you make a $100 donation, you get a shirt, but make sure to join the team as your own separate team member - I don't make that rule, but putting out there because it's always confusing).

Please feel free to send this page to anyone who might be interested in donating!

    Thank you for your support!
