Walk ALS Westchester: Mrs. MaryJo Pecora - ALS United Greater New York

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm participating in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk ALS to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS.

Last fall, my nephew, his wife, and their son received the devastating confirmation that ALS was invading their lives. I say it this way because they didn't sign up for this. YET each day, they navigate unknown territory with strength, humor, wit, and determination. These three are my true warriors. They take each day as it comes and figure it out.

ALS is cruel in the way it affects families. Through it all, their community has supported them just as they have been part of their circle for years.

When you needed something, Tommy, Julie, and TJ were there. If you needed a laugh or a joke, Tommy provided it. His sense of humor still brings laughter even now when you walk into the house. Grit and determination get them through every part of the journey.

They say family is everything.........well......they are mine.

NOW it is time to help them.

ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently, there is no known cause or cure.
