Barbara's Walk ALS Page
In 2021 our lives were forever changed with my husband Paul’s diagnosis of ALS. We are entering the 4th year of this very difficult journey and are so very grateful for the family and friends that walk with us and support us in so many ways. Today I’m specifically asking for your support of the ALS United Greater New York’s Walk - to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by this awful disease. Please join us on Team Pablo’s Pals June 1at Manhattanville College to walk and raise awareness and funds! Your donation - in any amount - is greatly appreciated.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cure or meaningful treatment.
Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without this terrible disease.
Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating!
Thank you.
